New pictures

Looking through maps.google.com, I see that the pictures have been updated. They are now less than a year old. What's happened in the neighborhood since the previous pictures were taken?

This clipping from Fort Collins Coloradoan on Sunday October 14, 2012 kinda shows some of the skills in our neighborhood.

From the stump

From the stump and the fallen fir tree, there arose...a pergola. The lightly seasoned wood was cut, measured and cut again to fit together, and then assembled a mid March morning.

It's a beauty.

Sad day on Smith

Yes, a sad day. I think my count is fairly accurate. When my juniper went down in the spring of 2003, I never did get a count of the rings. I only know that Clarence and Lottie planted it when their son was 2 and he passed away at 52. That was before I bought the house 20 years before the tree was destroyed.
